The Enlightened Domestic

I grew up with Gloria Steinem and the Women's Rights Movement enthusiastically sharing the message for "girls to go out there, get a job and strive for equal pay".  I listened despite the fact that I grew up in a traditional household with a father who worked while my mom stayed home and managed the household.  I remember thinking beyond a doubt that I would get out there and achieve something beyond the role of a domestic.
